Oh yeah, definitely. They are the same color as the others, just smaller. I'm pretty happy to see them!

Tony, I was wondering if you had an update on your ENCs. I'm considering ordering some and am gathering info.

I have them in a bin indoors, under a ceiling fan. They are probably right at 70 degrees, which seems like an ideal temperature, although I'm just guessing.

This is just one data point I consider reliable: "Temperature range: Minimum; 45º F, maximum; 85º F, ideal range; 55º F - 65º F."

Things had not been going so well, with worms escaping every night. So I added a good layer of old leaves and more shredded paper and kept th lid off the bin...So all is well. I need to keep the lid off, keep the food coming, and keep my hands out of the bin.

I've converted a terrarium with a screened lid into a worm bin. The lid allows for great ventilation while preventing any worms from escaping. None of my EEs have actually even come close to the lid, but the concept could easily be transfered to any worm bin. I also place cardboard sheets on top of the bedding as a false ceiling. I've seen worms poke above that occasionally, but they haven't gone very far. I originally kept a night light on above the lid, but now that doesn't seem to be necessary.

If my senses fail,
stay with me 'til they go 'cause I don't wanna be alone.
Greetings in braille, they'll describe everything, colors aren't everything.
And if you see me, down at the liquor store, please don't tell my dad.
And if you see my dad, down at the liquor store, don't tell me anything at all.
And the people you brought were just drainpipes bringing trash to the ground.
And your memories are just picture cards, one night stands and breakdowns.
And you were cold, tired and old as you'd ever looked that night.
And we were warned, yeah. We were warned not to stay out too late.
But somethings were worth getting in
trouble for.
So now that you finally failed
just like you said you would, down to the last detail.
Well if living's such hell,
here's to your dying days.
You won't have to be afraid.
And the heroes you met were just fiction,
yeah, with high expectations.
And your friends grew up faster than you got successful,
told you to keep it up.
Good comes to those who work.
And the stories they told you were true, babe.
Your mom really went crazy.
But that doesn't have to be you.
No.
And I miss Tara and Melissa, Allen and John.
And you'll never have friends like you did when you were young.
But our bodies were pulled away and swept out to the sea
And I'd call and say hi if I thought you'd remember me
cause somethings are worth leaving old memories for.
If my senses fail, stay with me 'til they go cause I don't wanna be alone.
Greetings in Braille, should describe everything
'cause you can't see anything from here.
From here, you can't see nothing at all.

ANYWAY.... Just wanted to give everyone an update.

My wife got tired of waking up to ENC's all over the floor, so I eventually put the bin outside, where they continued their exodus. I changed bedding, but they still crept away most every night, so I eventually gave up.

Checked the bin recently, and there were a couple of stragglers still in there, munching away. It's now cold and snowy out there, so I'm guessing they are gone completely, now.

At least I got a nice bin full of great soil!

Someone told me that possibly some egg cases may survive and re-start the colony. I guess we will see...
