Jerry, what spacing did you start with?

I am using 2" but the 4 layer paper floor was breached within a day or so, and I had thought about adding some removable rods in between until the bin was established.

At the moment I have simply put a light in the bottom which reduces the premature self harvesting a fair bit by chasing the worms up a bit from the very bottom.

Liz has used laundry line so not a simple matter of removing every 2nd rod.

Though if the castings hang after a scraping, it would probably be possible to rethread using every 2nd hole.

Alternatively, what I was thinking of using if I build a new bin, is the stiff wire that is used for hanging ceilings. It should be strong enough and a lot cheaper than the threaded rod I used for the first one - though I didn't have to buy it fortunately.

It would probably also fit nicely in the holes already created for the laundry line.

i origionaly thought the wheels on the trash bin would make things easier but the tapered sides make it a messy bin for indoor use the castings fall out on the floor just on their own
