Bokashi/EM-1 and worms 1 Year, 10 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi everyone,

I've been raising worms for several years and recently started a bokashi composting system and use EM-1 for agriculture. I read a couple of posts from 2006 and wanted to know if anyone else is using these products.

the bokashi is Effective microorganisms - a combination of lactic acids, yeasts and other beneficial bacteria. I recently put some papaya peels, banana peels and other veggies into my bokashi bucket, let it ferment for 12 days or so, then fed it to my worms. I understand that the PH when at the time was about 3.7 so very acidic. The worms avoided the food for 2 days then formed a huge ball around it, consuming it quickly. I have never seen such a feeding frenzy. I assume they are eating the bacteria..?

Not wanting to "sour"(too acidic) my bin, I only put a limited amount of the composted matter in. I like to use the product because it also neutralizes pesticides and herbicides to some degree(banana peels...), at least that is the products claim.

Anyway, is anyone else using this stuff and what have you experienced? Have you tried feeding non-produce composted food materials? Thoughts?

I am rasining Perionyx Excavatus and Amynthas gracilis. Can't use red wrigglers since I cannot import into my state.

Thanks !

Riff

Not only the valve lever in the valve opens shuts in the process is transports the moving parts, the stress, moreover is the seal. At the same time, it receives the medium the impact and the corrosion, but also has the friction with the padding. Therefore when chooses the valve lever material, must guarantee that it has the enough intensity, the good resilience under the stipulation temperature, the anti-abrasion, the inoxidizability. The valve lever is vulnerable, when selection should also pay attention to the material the machining property and the heat treatment performance. We control arm bush is good
