I like the way this board is organized so that -- when I first open the topic folder -- I know which threads have new messages in them. That is, anything new to read that wasn't there yet the last time I visited here.

It's always a tedious guessing game each time I come here to catch up on reading. I know which threads have new reading in them; but in each thread, especially the active longer ones, I have no helper mark to tell me how far down I'd read before and where to start reading now. Whether there is just one new posting or five, for example.

It would be so helpful if there was a clear marking within each thread where the NEW messages begin. Where to start reading.

Am I missing something? Is there an easy way to know where to start each time, and I'm just missing it? If not, this would be a GREAT feature to add to these message boards.

Not true. Threads with new messages are marked. But when you open the thread, there is no marking of exactly which messages are new. That is, what new postings have been made to the thread since you last read it.

Just my two cents worth, if you notice at the top of each reply there is a post indicator which shows the date and time of reply. If you can remember which day you last read a thread or like me I read every day it will show you where it starts. linda

Thanks, Linda. This would be easier if I weren't such an avid reader of this message board. I'm so enthralled by this hobby that I usually come here several times a day, and sometimes from different computers, just to check if there's anything new. I once tried jotting down my read points and found that as tedious as just re-reading and trying to figure out each time from memory where I left off before.

I guess my point is this. With all the GREAT message board software that's out there in the marketplace now, why are we stuck with this dinosaur with such limited capabilities? I read a lot of different boards, and none of the others -- for years! -- have been as feature-challenged as this one.
