Firstly, thank you for this great website.
I live in South Africa, but it seems our creepy crawlies are much the same.
I bought a 'complete' worm farm in a plastic bin three days ago, and to my great disappointment it is absolutely infested with springtails. It looks like dessicated coconut that has been stirred through the bedding, with small clumps of them, as well as loads sprinkled on top for good measure.
From what I've read, the only problem may be that they compete for food and may stress out the worms, but won't kill them.
Do you think I should take it back to the guy I bought it from (who is likely to tell me that its natural) or how can I sort this out?
