HELP! Moved bins outdoors, and now ANTS! 11 Months, 1 Week ago

We got an explosion of fruit flies a couple of months ago, so the bin HAD to move outdoors!
The worms seemed almost overcrowded, so I decided to split it into two. Seemed to work fine, and both bins are chock full of hungry worms.
It's gardening season, so we are feeding them regularly all the good stuff they love. But today, when moving the paper to one side, I noticed a bunch of big, very fast-moving red ants living in the bin. They were running around with larvae. Turns out, they are in BOTH bins. I didn't see them earlier in the week.
QUESTION: Are they harmless and do I leave them alone? Or do I try to get rid of them, and HOW?
Any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks in advance.
