I have seen on various web sites that the Waste Buster Maxi is advertised as being able to deal with waste from a family of 5-6 or 8kgs of waste per week.
I have also read in Mr George Pilkington's excellent book "Composting with worms" on Page 38 where he quotes Mary Appelhof, recommending "1 square foot of surface area for each 1 pound of waste per week"
I am confused since the Waste Buster Maxi is advertised as approx. 61cm x44cm x68cm (24"x 17"x27"

.
I am looking to purchase a Waste Buster to deal with approx. 10 pounds of kitchen waste per week along with an appropriate amount of shredded cardboard and whilst the Waste Buster Maxi seems to be OK I am concerned that it does not come near the Mary Appelhof recommendation for surface area.
Could you please advise with regard to this apparent anomaly?
