Questions about vermikoposting - can you help me? - 2005/10/31 15:12I am devote growing worms of kind eisenia foetida over 1 year. Because I am come from Czech Republic where isn?t any traditions and information about vermikomposting have some questions about raise worms: How it is possible harvesting worms from hill? And also want to know if it is possible raise worms on substratum creating from leaves, grass and waste from fruits, without adding dung. Thank for answer.

I am not against it, but the bins are in the basement and the one time I did use it, I got a real smelly spot and frankly the worms weren't impressed. Re:Questions about vermikoposting - can you help m - 2005/11/01 17:09Dung from horses, cattle, sheep, etc. is great feed and bedding if properly prepared.....it's not NECESSARY to use, but is usually a good carbon to nitrogen mix in your beds. I am not against using manure, I just don't have any. I use a lot of vegetables and some fruit and some hay mixed with a lot of paper.KuznLes
