Doubled my space. - 2008/06/03 23:58 After my lady saw the benifits of the compost tea she gave me permission to double my outdoor bin space From 15 sp ft to 30..

Here is my question concern though. I figured I better ask it now as there may not be time if it starts to heat up too much.

I divided my bin (and ordered 10 more pounds of worms) in doing so All the bedding (mostly horse manure) got stirred up. This may create heat. Last time I did this the temps got up to 85 in the bedding and the worms didn't seem to mind. This time the stirring was more thourough and might create more heat. My bins are 3' by 5' I did make a strip of cardboard in the middle that is about 25 percent of my bedding space for heat escape reasons. I fear this may not be enough if it gets too hot on both sides of it.

Anyway to make a long story short. What are my options if it starts to heat up to 90 or more.

Does saturating the bedding slow the heating process?

Thanks
Darren
