Where to get copper tape? - 2009/03/25 18:33 A long time ago, someone posted having success lining top of bins with copper tape, used to keep slugs out of things, to keep worms in.

Sounded so promising but I have not been able to find this copper tape anywhere, not chain stores or private nurseries.

Can anyone give me a link where to order? Or can you tell me where to find it around the Dallas area?

Thanks.

Re:Where to get copper tape? - 2009/03/25 22:32 Connie,

That was me that posted the idea of copper tape. If you just google "slug tape" you should come up with a bunch of links. You can also go to amazon.com and do the same...you'll find it there too.(I just tried both ways) I bought mine from Fred Meyer in their garden dept. This time of the year I would think most gardening stores would carry it also. The one I used is Cory's slug & snail copper tape and it's about 1.25" wide.

I've had good results with it, but if they run out of food or get too crowded they still cross over it. Overall I think it is a good idea and I plan to put it on all of my bins.
