Strong amonia smell - 2006/03/10 15:17I get a strong amonia smell when I open one bin I use chicken mash for food and compost for bedding I've only had this bin three weeks In my other bins I use kitchen scraps, no smell. any suggestions.

Re:Strong amonia smell - 2006/03/12 16:57I did a little research and found out that the amonia smell may be caused by dead worms. I removed the top three inches of dirt and worms and placed in a different bin on top of kitchen scrapes. No more amonia smell in either bin. Thanks for the input.
