 Greetings - From Downunder - 2006/05/06 09:24 Hi, to all the Worm lovers and Members of this great forum.
My name is Geoff, and I am from Central Victoria, Australia. The state, right next to Marshall... in the Southern part of Australia. We Aussies are the opposite
to you Guy's in the States - weather wise. We are now just starting to head into winter, after a very long dry Summer.
I just love this forum, I just found it by chance 3 or 4 days ago. I read all the posts over and over.
Only started my first Worm farm on April 25th, so just a real "newie", but I just love it Have Red Tiger and Red wrigglers.On the 25th picked up my first 500, then a few days later, got in another 8000. Have set up in a nursery hot house, about 10ft x 20ft with good metal selves, with the temp at this time of the year around 10c to 15c. I am using poly-form boxes for the worms, so after only 10 days all seems to be going well.
But without the wormdigest forum, it would be a real battle. Many thanks to all you good folks that write such helpful posts. Geoff

I have only been here a short time too. I've had my worms just over a month and been keeping them in tubs and a modified plastic spa bath. I have some baby's baths too but haven't set those up yet.

I lived in Central Victoria in the early 90's. Franklinford, not far from Mount Franklin. Where are you?

Sure, these members are just so helpful and so friendly.
We will learn heaps, and in turn as we learn will be able to write posts that may help others.
I just love the forum. I picked up my second lot of 8000
worms from a guy at Hepburn Springs. All is going well but just so cold, you know what Ballarat is like. That's why I have set up in the nursery hot house, well at least till spring comes around, which is a long way off.
They say the top temp will be around 8c Sunday. Catch you down the track. It's gone 12.30 am Sunday, so must head off and hit the sack. Regards. Geoff.

I would be interested to know what sort of worms you have. I got mine from several sources and they are all a mixture of types but predominately Indian Blue (Perionyx Excavarus) I am starting to wonder if anybody here has red worms.

I'd like very much to meet you and have a look at your setup. I'm wanting to setup a hothouse for growing flower cuttings also. I'm not far from you. I live in Taylors lakes and need to meet another worm breeder. I've been thinking about breeding worms for zonks and just never got around to it, till now.
