WormDigest Forum

New Reading Material - 2005/09/17 18:12 I live in the United Kingdom. Earthworm awareness and a organic movement directed towards nutrition is just beginning to take off over here.

I am looking forward to finding out more about new books, magazines and newsletters that I can purchase over the internet.

I never knew that there was website with a forum like this one available on the internet. I want to share information with others so I can assist in educating my friends and loved ones.

I just read the book, The Earth Moved, by Amy Stewart. It was pretty good.

Kudo's to the Worm Digest for making this forum possible.

Re:New Reading Material - 2005/09/17 20:26 I just read 'The Earth Moved' this past spring. It was a wonderful overview of the life of worms and people involved. I would recommend this to anyone.

I would also like to say the articles from the newsmagazine by the web site is a good resource for a wide gamut of items. You can find them on the site and you can buy them here on line.

Please let me know if there are any books and or articles you have found regrading the best way to attract worms to your garden.

Greetings from teh colonies!

Re:New Reading Material - 2005/09/18 14:57 Berta,

I am hoping to hear if the Worm Digest is continuing their quarterly newsletter/magazine?

Re:New Reading Material - 2005/09/19 08:36 Berta -

One quick way of attracting worms to the garden is simply by mulching. You can find a few tips in the Colorado Master Gardener Fact Sheet on Earthworms.

Try mulching your garden with lawn clippings. You can kill two birds with one stone that way.

Cheers!

Re:New Reading Material - 2005/09/20 13:49 Patricia, Berta and Alfred!

I think we are all hoping that with some of the well known published authors that are involved with this new Worm Digest organization we will be the first to hear in this literature forum about new reading matter coming available to the public before it circulates.

Re:New Reading Material - 2005/09/20 15:01 Alfred and Jean -

Alfred, thank you for the reference to Colorado. It's a nice start for things. Placing the grass clippings on the garden does do more than one thing at once!

Jean, the site offered good things up to now. After seeing the new site, things look like they will be very promising.

Thank you!

Re:New Reading Material - 2005/09/24 19:17 I just finished reading Amy Stewart's book and I loved it. Thank you Amy. I also heard you on National Public Radio. You were great! My friends heard you too. My friends talked about you for weeks. I bought your book at Borders Book Store. I think this forum will be my favorite. There is also a link on this site for latest news in literature.

Re:New Reading Material - 2005/10/02 14:53 I just noticed the link on this website on the Home Page referring to a review on Amy's Book. It was a nice review and it was nice for this website to share it with all of us.

Re:New Reading Material - 2005/10/03 16:27 Thanks! I thought the worms did very well on the radio. I did a great event in Eugene with Zorba shortly before Worm Digest began its "transition"...it was a nice little fundraiser. I'm really glad to see this forum up and running again. Amy Stewart

Re:New Reading Material - 2005/10/10 00:32 It's been really fun to take earthworms into bookstores with me...at first the booksellers are a little worried that there will be worms climbing the walls before the evening is over, but once I assure them that my worms are very well-behaved, you wouldn't believe the response. Very well-dressed, well-manicured people coming up with their hands outstretched, wanting to hold a worm. Woo-hoo! Amy Stewart
