 vermi juice yields - 2006/11/30 23:33 Hi all,

I am new to vermiculture and looking at this as a rural economic development tool to help rejuvenate soils in marginal rural communities for the production of renewable energy/switchgrass. The idea is to use aerated compost teas, and of course, worm juice would be to height of a quality tea, wouldn't it?

Anyways, what I can't understand is how much worm "urine" could be harvested? This depends on a lot of factors, so I would ask that you include as much info as you can, such as the worm density, square footage, cubic footage, feeding rate, time to accumulate 1 gallon, 50 gallons, etc.

Thank you for your assistance. Good reliable sources are reliable and I will remember you when looking for equipment and worm suppliers.

The new EarthWorm Digest Magazine #37 discusses Compost Tea, which is availabe through the Magazine Store. But also, all you have to do is a little research through past forums, read the article about compost tea by Dr. Clive Edwards and Dr. Norman Arancon and also search past posts under compost tea or worm juice that address some of the issues you are asking about.

The liquid needs to be brewed. And up from the ground came a bigger bunch of plants, cuz worms were under there, Eisenia Fetidas, Redworms, Brewing Tea, chemical free, BLACK GOLD

This is not what is to be "harvested". It is the vermicompost that is used to make tea. Check out the site below and learn more about making and use of aerated compost teas.
