Question about EarlyBirdWorms - 2007/06/11 14:25Hey everybody,
Starting to get a bad feeling about a supplier I purchased some worms from. Put in my order on the 6th and paid from them at the same time, but have yet to hear from them, even though I have sent them (2) emails asking about delivery status . Has anyone every done business with Early Bird Worms out of SC?
Maybe I'm just paranoid , but after reading the posts from another person in this forum about all the trouble they had with their suppliers, I can't help but feel I may have been taken. Perhaps they are only on vacation, but you would think they would have an auto-respond letting customers know that their shipments would be delayed. Maybe not.
Anyway, I would appreciate any feedback good or bad.
Thanks again for your help!
Buddy

Re:Question about EarlyBirdWorms - 2007/06/11 16:20Why not give them a call. Phone : (864)374-7350 CELL PHONE (864)942-7566. ad says 8am to 8 pm eastern time. earlybirdworms@yahoo.com
Most people will not ship worms over the weekend because of the heat. Most likely they would ship today at the earliest. You should be ok.

Re:Question about EarlyBirdWorms - 2007/06/11 16:42I have ordered twice from Early Bird worms, from recommendation from the Red Hen and have been extremely pleased. He only ships early in the week, and the 6th was Wednesday, so probably did not ship until today.
As for count, the worms easily were in the weight, if not more and very lively. I would call if you are worried, but I would buy from them again with no problems.www.wormcrusader.com

Re:Question about EarlyBirdWorms - 2007/06/11 18:49Early Bird ships only on Mondays and Wednesdays, so most likely your order shipped out today. They are reputable growers.Susan Quinby-Honer redhen@nc.rr.com Starve the Landfill...Feed the Earth.

Not to sound too bitchy, but their reputation as growers is not really the bone I'm picking at. It's their customer service practices. I'm pissed at the lack of communication. It's been 6 days since I placed my order and I have yet to receive either an acknowledgement of my order or any response to my (2) emails asking about delivery. If they are on vacation, fine. If they are running behind on their deliveries, fine. These things happen and I can accept them. But I get really steamed when I am ignored. If they are out of town or too busy to answer their email, I would think they would either place a note on their web site or set their email account to auto-respond. Something / anything to let me know I'm not just spitting into the wind.
Susan, as a supplier, I'm sure you understand the importance of good customer relations & good customer service. At this point, I give them a C- for customer service.

orders. Hopefully you understand where I'm coming from. If not, sorry for the tirade, but it's been a bad week.
Thanks for listening

Sorry to be so long with a response, but I was attending the NCSU Worm Conference and my roommate was on the computer 24/7 this weekend. Called Paul Coleman and was told my worms shipped Monday and I got them Wednesday. As promised, I got 2# of healthy worms with just enough bedding to keep them safe during their short trip from SC. I was so pleased, I put in an order this weekend for an additional 10#s. I should get them this Wednesday. I'm very excted. I'm hoping to see my new bin running at full speed in the next few weeks. Thanks to everybody for your responses .

Re:Question about EarlyBirdWorms - 2007/06/19 08:29Worms were inside a black breathable bag wth just enough dry compost to keep them from overheating. Shipped in cardboard box. I knew that they were coming in Wednesday's mail and also the expected arrival time of my carrier. So I took my lunch break to drive home and met the carrier when she drove up. That way they were not left in the sun to cook.
