Retail vs. Wholesale - 2008/03/03 18:38 Just wondering what the mix is here of those of us who sell. Which do you do, or which do you do more of. We sell wholesale and are looking at getting into some retail. What is everyone else doing??? Dave Wallace

Re:Retail vs. Wholesale - 2008/03/03 20:15 Before the moderators move this one too , I'm strictly home-use, Dave.
I'm just trying to generate soil & plant enhancements and keep useable waste in the natural stream while I keep working on improving my little slice. I share some vc with family & friends but haven't even tried to sell any.
Maybe when I quit collecting a regular paycheck...dunno.

Good luck to ya though!
Y'all have fun, whatever you're doing.

Re:Retail vs. Wholesale - 2008/03/28 22:33 Dave, I'm was wondering who you sell to bait stores, internet or other wholesellers. And what kind of worms you sell? Do you bulk them or count and cup? Thanks TWF T Worm Farms

Re:Retail vs. Wholesale - 2008/03/29 09:57 Dave, My business plan is to do both. I want to become a wholesale operation. Retail is a tuff nut.

Re:Retail vs. Wholesale - 2008/03/29 11:02 T Worm, we sell to convenience stores & bait stores.

Kyle, Good luck with your business. We started out just doing wholesale, but are currently building a store in one part of our warehouse! Yes retail can be a tough gig. But I have been in retail (not the worm business) for the past GOD ONLY KNOWS how many years. Guess I just dont know any better.

Gary, you can put me down as a referance when you interview @ WD!!!

Admin, thank you for the encouragement!

Did I get everybody?

Re:Retail vs. Wholesale - 2008/05/27 00:37 Now you've caught my interest. Since I'm brand new, I think the "worm tea" will be the first thing I have enough of to start marketing.

May I ask how you found your market and what kind of market? If you are not comfy answering here, please email me at funmailforconnie@yahoo.com. I'm in Texas so I don't think I would be a comptetitor for you.

Thanks.

Connie

Re:Retail vs. Wholesale - 2008/07/01 11:43 Connie,

I found my market through family. My sister-in-law runs a wholesale landscape nursery and my wife's uncle runs a big greenhouse. When we had enough on hand to sell we started there and then did some shows and just kept pushing.
