Selling Success? - 2008/03/16 15:14 Hi,

I'm new to the forums here

Wondering how many people have had success selling their worms on a semi-regular basis, and what you did to go about it? Did you put up a web site? Do you sell to family/friends? Do you sell to stores?

Thanks!

Re:Selling Success? - 2008/03/17 11:14 Maureen,

Welcome to our neck of the virtual woods...

I sell to stores, garden centers, on eBay, and am setting up a retail store & webstie.

How you go about things is going to depend on your situation, and what you want to accomplish. I suggest starting small. If there is not a reliable local place to get worms or castings, your business might take off quicker than you plan on.

Just out of curiousity, what do your castings go for?

Re:Selling Success? - 2008/03/19 11:55 Thanks so much for your reply. I've done some research for my area and there aren't any publicized farms near me, so maybe that's good. Of course there could be one, just someone doesn't have a site up.

But you've given me some encouragement!

Re:Selling Success? - 2008/03/19 13:03 Good luck 5star. Find a bait outlet was pretty easy for us. 1 store turned into the chain within about 3 weeks! Castings on the other had were different. We did have to develop the market for that.

Noone else was doing any real business out here either. And the places that I could find did not have much info or knowlege. So once I started calling on other business and talking our target market it was like introducing a completely new product.

"Yea, we have heard about it, but..." and it just took time to teach people about it, and then it was getting them to try it. Persistance was the key for us. Maybe it was perseverance. Maybe it was all the years I have spent in sales; I dont take no very easily

But seriously GOOD LUCK!
