sending worms by mail - 2008/03/22 00:41 I need to send worms to my sister in a state far away...I know that I received my worms from a purveyor months ago...but how I got them through the mail...I dunno...I asked at a shipper and they acted like it was a crime to send worms...whatever...any ideas? I would like them to arrive alive and with attitude...Thanks

You can ship them USPS or UPS. We use cooler boxes with the bedding refridgerated beforehand, make sure that they have enough food, and mark the package as perishable. We only ship worms on Mondays, try to get it out first thing, that way the can reach anywhere in the lower 48 by friday the same week. Dave Wallace

Re:sending worms by mail - 2008/03/23 20:05 When I got mine awhile back the box (small flat rate box) had a label on it that read "live worms handle with care" or something to that effect. but the box looked like it had been stepped on.
Inside the box was a cloth bag that was tied off to contain the worms. The worms were in what looked like dryer lint or very finely shreaded paper. It was probably wet when it was shipped, but arrived dry.
Took them 4 days to get here but they were ok. Jeremy
