I have a few home made bins also, but haven't got any action. I'm thinking about dumping my scraps and starting over, now that the BSF's are about in season. I started my bins when I got the idea over the winter. So the stuff I put in there is pretty icky. Mark..and all..know that BSF will not be attracted to anaerobic conditions. I think if you were to set out a well ventilated tote type bin with plenty of decomposing produce you will get the results you are thinking about. I have had some such bins sitting outside for 2 days now with warm weather and will report when I first see my colony begin.
