Your call really, Beadmama, and welcome. Me, I like to have something microbially active in their new home when they arrive. Thinkin' that kinda makes 'em feel welcome and less likely to stray in search of something to nosh after the trip. Like Rob said, start small though; it can take 'em a few days to get comfy enough to eat. For a screen bottom bin, I'd add a few sheets of newspaper or a piece of corrugated cardboard under the bedding to start. That's what I did when I had my WormFactory working. It breaks down quick under bedding so you oughtn't have any issues when it's time for them to move to your next tray. What is your bedding, how big is the bin and how many of what kind of worms?
