worm factory - 2008/07/13 21:11 Hello.Sorry to say that when I went on vacation my worms made a mass exodus.Tje girl taking care of them found them all over the floor and counter.So I ordered worms and a worm factory from HappyDRanch.I see it heats up easily-hopefully I have this under control.However,when I check the catchment tray there are many worms and castings.How have folks kept the worms from migrating down?

Re:worm factory - 2008/07/14 20:55 Chana, I have a Worm Factory also. I use a piece of screen mesh on the bottom tray. This helps alot. But once every 2 weeks I usually pick up the "babies" from the catchment tray and put them back in main trays. Also make sure your conditions are okay. Sounds like you might use to much food. That is why it heats up quickly. I also keep the valve open on the bottom for air flow.

Just fill the bottom with shred paper then scoop 'em up and put 'em back in your working tray(s) every once in a while. When you get the hang of the WF and don't have much drainage you'll see fewer down there. Y'all have fun, whatever you're doing.
