Grub Worms - 2008/09/17 08:13 Are grub worms in you in your manure pile a problem when feeding the manure to your worms?

Re:Grub Worms - 2008/09/17 12:07 I would ID the grub (perhaps BSF).
Where are your bins...indoor or outdoor?

Re:Grub Worms - 2008/09/17 16:40 If your grubs are the plain ole grub worm like we have around here then it's the Junebug larva, it shouldn't pose any problem to your worms other than being a competitor for food. They are pretty good catfish bait if that gives you an idea of what I do with them. They can be lawn and garden pests as they eat plant and root matter.

Re:Grub Worms - 2008/09/17 22:14 Does the grub (larvae) look like this...

If so that would be Black Soldier Fly larvae (they would be found in a manure pile) and are great decomposers.

Re:Grub Worms - 2008/09/17 22:26 The BSF sure has an appetite. I had loads of the adults in my barn a few weeks ago and a lot of larvaes in a couple of bins.
