Worm parasites - 2009/03/23 12:38 Hi worm folks!
I have a question for you and this seems to be the best place I've found to have my q's answered.

I have a bunny poop compost in the backyard which
the earthworms just thrive in. They just love the bunny waste. I originally got a few out of the ground and into the compost bin, and they have been multiplying like mad.
I also have frogs as pets, and they need to eat!
An "aha" moment, right?

I would like to use the earthworms as food for my frogs
however, I want to be sure they will be a safe food,
and not transmit any internal parasites they might have to my critters. (nematodes/protozoa, etc...)

Is there a way to grow worms free of parasites
(ie. remove the eggs and grow them in controlled conditions) so that I could be relatively sure of them
being parasite free?

Thank you for any help you might be able to give!
