lavender vs. mites - 2009/03/29 14:53 I'm still battling red mites, but hanging in there for now.

I have a few dozen small lavender shrubs and cuttings and wonder:

Since lavender is a natural insect repellent, I want to see if it would encourage the mites to move out.

Does anyone know how it might affect the worms if I sprinkled a few leaves across the top...maybe even stick a few cuttings in and let them grow?

It is probably the smell that is repellent, much like a pyrethrin insect repellent.

Any knowledge, thoughts, or wild guesses?
Thanks!
