Just ordered my first worms! Worm egg ?'s. - 2009/05/08 02:38 So I've been wanting to try vermicomposting for some time now, I wanted to try both the red wrigglers and europeans, but didn't feel like spending the dough for a pound of each plus shipping, and I couldn't find a supplier who sold batches of under a pound until I stumbled across this worm farm : http://www.deckerwormsales.com/ . He sold a mixed pound for only $23.90 or whatever with shipping included so I gave it a shot. They should be here any day now I'll let you know how they arrive.Hopefully I can pick the larger europeans out and have a bin of only europeans.

I've been doing a lot of research on the worms but still haven't managed to answer some questions about the worm eggs. I know some companies sell worm eggs, and I'm assuming that they are shipped moist. I was wondering what would happen if you were to collect a bunch of eggs and let them dry out. Would they still be viable? Could you just add water and have them hatch? Or just add them to some moist bedding? How long can they be stored for and is there a way to store them? Just some questions I haven't been able to answer, I may have to wait and experiment on my own worms if no one has any answers .
