pill bugs in your bin? - 2006/05/08 10:03
I read somewhere that what the worms are really eating are micro-organisms in their food. And that they can even recycle their own castings since some of those micro-orgs survive their digestive process and then multiply in the castings. I also read that pill-bugs can speed things up in a bin considerably (personal conjecture) because they can break down the bedding and food faster since they have mandibles and not just muscular orafices.
So, any thoughts on adding a pill bug population to your bin to get things moving faster?
