do herbs such as mint upset the little wormies? - 2005/10/07 16:59 I know worms are not too happy with onions and citrus, but what about mint?

I have fire ants in my worm pile. Just part of living in texas. I know they are not hurting anything. Ants are just a part of the decomposing process. But I seem to attract ants and thus get biten all the time. My husband and I have lived in TX for 10 years and he has never been bit. If there is a fire ant with in a mile, they find me. Anyway, ants are suppoded to be repeled by mint. If I put mint in the pile would the worms get upset?

What makes it all worse is I can not wear shoes, because I am terriblely chemically sensitive and shoes are full of chemicals, the glues, the lether tanning chemicals, and the synthetics fibers. I can wear 100% cotton socks. I were them inside and out and they are filthy, even when clean! The ants have less of a barrier with just sockes. Does not mater, they will climb up your legs to find skin even if you have shoes on.
