Re:do herbs such as mint upset the little wormies? - 2005/10/07 17:10 Sorry about the ants. When we moved to Missouri last year, the chiggers were pleased to have new blood. If I wore socks or sprayed ankles, they just moved up.

I doubt mint would hurt the worms. They would probably just avoid it and if they have food sources other places that would help.

Can you put leaves or even plant it AROUND the bins to discourage the ants before they get into the bins?

I cleaned, chopped and froze the jalapeno and cayenne peppers last week. I didn't give those seeds to the worms although they love bell peppers insides. I was a little wary of burning them.

Typical rule of thumb, is don't do to your worms what you wouldn't do to your eye.
