I hope you will investigate methane digestion for the production of cooking fuel (and other natural gas applications) in Ghana. Many developing countries have destroyed their forests for fuel while being surrounded by manure (human and otherwise) that could produce this clean fuel.
I am still waiting for a serious demonstration of feeding the spent manure from a methane digester to a vermiculture system that in turn sends non-chemical humus to a productive garden site.
