Re:worm feed - 2005/10/17 08:43 I have always babied my bins, feeding them just about enough, mixing in paper, adding moisture, keeping them quiet and topped with paper for 'lids', freezing food, crushing eggshell, talking to them -- dream on.

I have a friend who put his in a garage (the best heat was a morning sun, would NEVER add bedding, dumped his morning grapefruit and coffee grounds in, let it get a little hot (probably saved the worms during the winter) and generally neglected them. The bin was so gooey because of not enough paper that you could hear the worms moving around through.

Both setups thrived! The Balance must have been there.
