Ok I'm brand new to vermiculture.
The can o worms is a layer system, like a continuous flow? The trays in my idea are not part of the worm farm - they are pre compost - I don't know the can o worms is that what they do?
Basically the idea is to have existing continuous flow design and just add the trays on top for pre-composting food, clips to clip them together, and something to lift them with.
