you don't need very much soap just enough to break the surface tension, which wouldn't amount to more than a half a dozen drops. As for this scent, try a rotten fruit. I really don't think the odor matters. They go for the moisture they would normally land on the surface and drink however with the soap. There is no surface tension in the sink to the bottom and drowned
