Bedding - 2008/04/17 20:23 Hello everyone!

I have been reading posts on here for nearly 1 year and gained a lot of knowledge. My primary venture is the vermiculture side for bait sales. My question is can I use a screened manure compost for bedding? I found a farm near my home and below is the contents of the manure compost.

Compost consists of:
Grass, Weeds and Non-Woody, Garden Prunings
Spent Flowers, Bouquets
Farm Animal Manures (cow, horse, chicken, sheep)
Fruit and Vegetable Garden Scraps
A Sprinkling of Blood Meal or Cottonseed Meal

Our Manure Test Results:

Nitrogen 1.30%

Phosphorus .35%

Potassium 1.19%

Calcium 2.42%

Magnesium .48%

Boron (ppm) 50

Zinc (ppm) 109

Manganese (ppm) 263

Copper (ppm) 22

Iron (ppm) 3000

Aluminum (ppm) 3415

Sodium (ppm) .11

PH 8.2

Soluble Salts mmhos 5.88

A&L Great Lakes Laboratories, Inc. tested our compost for herbicides and insecticides. No detectable levels of any pesticide was found

My main question is can I use this as my primary bedding? Below is the website of the farm that carries this compost for general reading.

Thank you
Dave
