Looking for Garden Worms - 2008/04/20 07:19 I've been a worm fan since I was a toddler and used to carry them in my pockets as "pets." Let's say my mom wasn't thrilled about that...

I'm looking for good old American earthworms to put in my garden. We bought a neglected house with sterile soil and I'm working to bring it back. We are sadly lacking worms because there was nothing for them to eat here. Now I've provided organic material but the worms are slow to realize there is a banquet here now.

I do NOT want African worms as I don't want to introduce foreign species. I remember seeing a site a few years back with a worm farm run by an elderly Black lady but don't seem to be able to find it now.

I suppose it's only a matter of time before I start raising red wigglers or crawlers in my basement but for now I just need some hungry garden worms. Please let me know if there is a place I can buy some. I promise to take good care of them.

Peace,
Jane
