beetles in bin? - 2008/04/24 10:14 Hi,

I've had my bin 8 weeks now and since recovering from the stinky bottom (thanks for the replies)...things have been going well. I have lots of healthy worms, cocoons and baby worms. I've seen white and brown mites, but not in excess.
I am now seeing black and brown very fast beetles for the first time. They're about 3/16th inch long and look like little VW Bugs. I've seen about 7 of them so far.
From what I've read, I only need to worry about centipedes and red mites bothering the worms themselves, but I'd still like to be reassured that these guys are okay in the bin.
Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences; it's been a huge help as I learn.
