Need a clean harvest method for office - 2008/05/07 10:23 I am interested in starting a worm composting system for our office, but I am worried about the process of harvesting and what type of bin would be best. It is an office of 25 people, and I want the method to be easy enough so all can take turns and the burden of maintenance is not all on one person. I have two concerns:

1) What is the best style of bin? I am leaning towards a stackable design, since it sounds like it might make harvesting simple.

2) With one large bin, what is the best (and by this I mean the cleanest and quickest) way to harvest the worms?

How often should the compost be added to the worms? I would imagine that you do not add every time there are scraps. Once a day, a coulple times a week, or once a week, etc. - What is the ideal?

Thanks in advance for any input!
