Re:Worm tea from pond water? - 2008/05/09 21:47
OK. It's been a busy month. Finally got this experiment started today, while HH6 was sleeping off this morning's knee surgery meds. She's fine; no worries. So - 3 bins, 3 plants, 3 different nutrient intros. Setup: 10g Sterilite bins, 12x 5/32" drainage holes each, one layer of corrugated cardboard under 40# of bagged topsoil and 6c of vc per bin.
I decided to go with Anaheim peppers (yum), and added a bit of mulch on top.
All bins will get natural rainfall. From left to right...
county water with vc / pond water with vc / pond water. Watering / feeding only as needed beyond natural rainfall, but equal measurements for each when I do. They all got a good soaking with county water after planting today just to get 'em settled. I'll start the different feedings when they next need it.
Y'all have fun, whatever you're doing. Gary Hopkinsville, KY |
