You could, but the issue would be the possibility of heating up if the materials weren't already composted. If your l'il fellas are happy as is, I wouldn't sweat it. You can always fluff the bedding without tossing it like a salad. I like the 'garden claw'TM for doing that - a simple 90 degree twist pulls the bedding up, loosening and aerating without a lot of disturbance.
