We are always experimenting with ways to start worm farms, and one way we found that works, and is REAL cheap. We bought a couple of cups of red worms from the local walmart...I know that even sounds like a joke LOL.
Anyways we put those worms into a plastic tote and raise them from there. So the initial start up cost is around 10 bucks. I would think anyone could afford that LOL.
It takes a bit longer to get it to any size, but in a year or so you could have a nice little herd goin. Once you have that herd then the fun really begins.
Nice to meet you to bro.

Damn, Man. Is there anything Walmart doesn't sell? Don't tell me...they're made in China? Did they break soon as you opened the package?
Actually I'll have to check into that. 10 bucks isn't bad. Might be an easier way to boost my population without wracking up more of my anatomy...I'm not old but I sure as hell ain't young enough to squat, kneel and bend for five hours at a time like I used too. Last time out I thought I'd crippled myself. How many do you get for $10.00?
